RESOLUTION NO. 2025-093
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO
PETERSON CONTRACTORS, INC., OF REINBECK, IOWA, IN
THE AMOUNT OF $1,565,749.39, APPROVING THE
CONTRACT, BOND AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2023 SUNNYSIDE CREEK
IMPROVEMENTS WET DETENTION POND AND CHANNEL
STABILIZATION PROJECT, CONTRACT NO. 1062, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has solicited and received competitive bids for the FY
2023 Sunnyside Creek Improvements Wet Detention Pond and Channel Stabilization Project,
Contract No. 1062, aimed at enhancing water management and environmental stability; and
WHEREAS, Peterson Contractors, Inc., of Reinbeck, Iowa, presented the lowest
responsible bid in the amount of $1,565,749.39; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to proceed with this project to improve
the community's water management infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, the contract documents, including the bond and certificate of insurance
provided by Peterson Contractors, Inc., have been reviewed and found to meet city requirements
and industry standards for performance and indemnity.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The bid submitted by Peterson Contractors, Inc., of Reinbeck, Iowa, in the total
amount of $1,565,749.39 is hereby accepted as the lowest responsible bid.
2. That the contract, bond, and certificate of insurance for the aforementioned project, as
submitted by Peterson Contractors, Inc., are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents
on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
