RESOLUTION NO. 2025-099
A RESOLUTION APPROVING PRELIMINARY PLANS,
SPECIFICATIONS, FORM OF CONTRACT, ETC., SETTING
DATE OF BID OPENING AS MARCH 13, 2025, AND DATE
OF PUBLIC HEARING AS MARCH 17, 2025, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2025 ASPHALT OVERLAY
PROGRAM, CONTRACT NO. 1115, AND INSTRUCT THE
CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has prepared the necessary preliminary plans,
specifications, form of contract, and cost estimate for the FY 2025 Asphalt Overlay Program,
Contract No. 1115, aimed at maintaining and improving the city's road infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, the City is required by law to approve these documents, set dates for the bid
opening and public hearing to ensure due process and public involvement in municipal projects;
and
WHEREAS, these steps are essential for inviting competitive bids and considering public
feedback relevant to the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. That the preliminary plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimated cost for the
FY 2025 Asphalt Overlay Program, Contract No. 1115, are hereby approved.
2. That the bid opening date for receiving contractor proposals is set for March 13, 2025.
3. That a public hearing to receive input and consider any public objections is scheduled
for March 17, 2025.
4. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish notice of the bid
opening and public hearing in accordance with Iowa law, ensuring proper dissemination and
community engagement.
