RESOLUTION NO. 2025-105
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO PETERS
CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION OF WATERLOO, IOWA IN THE
AMOUNT OF $73,740.00, APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BONDS,
AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH
THE SECURED DOOR UPGRADES PORTION OF THE TERMINAL
SECURITY UPGRADES PROJECT, IDOT CSVI CONTRACT NO.
5819, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has identified the need to enhance security at its
terminal facilities, thereby initiating the Secured Door Upgrades portion of the Terminal Security
Upgrades Project under IDOT CSVI Contract No. 5819; and
WHEREAS, bids for the aforesaid project were solicited in accordance with applicable
laws and procedures; and
WHEREAS, the specifications, bid documents, and proposed form of contract have been
prepared and reviewed to ensure they meet the required standards and objectives of the Secured
Door Upgrades portion of the Terminal Security Upgrades Project; and
WHEREAS, Peters Construction Corporation of Waterloo, Iowa, submitted the lowest
responsible bid in the amount of $73,740.00 for the Secured Door Upgrades portion of the
Terminal Security Upgrades Project; and
WHEREAS, the City deems it in its best interest to accept and award the bid submitted
by Peters Construction Corporation and approve the contract, bonds, and certificate of insurance
submitted by Peters Construction Corporation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. That the bid submitted by Peters Construction Corporation of Waterloo, Iowa, in the
amount of $73,740.00 is hereby accepted and awarded for the Secured Door Upgrades portion of
the Terminal Security Upgrades Project, IDOT CSVI Contract No. 5819.
2. That the contract, bonds, and certificate of insurance provided by Peters Construction
Corporation are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute said
documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
