RESOLUTION NO. 2025-104
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO K & W
ELECTRIC OF CEDAR FALLS, IOWA IN THE AMOUNT OF
$126,121.00, APPROVING THE CONTRACT, BONDS, AND
CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
SURVEILLANCE CAMERA UPGRADES PORTION OF THE
TERMINAL SECURITY UPGRADES PROJECT, IDOT CSVI
CONTRACT NO. 5819, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has identified the need to enhance security at its
terminal facilities, thereby initiating the Surveillance Camera Upgrades portion of the Terminal
Security Upgrades Project under IDOT CSVI Contract No. 5819; and
WHEREAS, bids for the aforesaid project were solicited in accordance with applicable
laws and procedures; and
WHEREAS, the specifications, bid documents, and proposed form of contract have been
prepared and reviewed to ensure they meet the required standards and objectives of the
Surveillance Camera Upgrades portion of the Terminal Security Upgrades Project; and
WHEREAS, K & W Electric of Cedar Falls, Iowa, submitted the lowest responsible bid
in the amount of $126,121.00 for the Surveillance Camera Upgrades portion of the Terminal
Security Upgrades Project; and
WHEREAS, the City deems it in the best interest to accept and award the bid submitted
by K & W Electric; and approve the contract, bonds, and certificate of insurance submitted by K
& W Electric.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. That the bid submitted by K & W Electric of Cedar Falls, Iowa, in the amount of
$126,121.00 is hereby accepted and awarded for the Surveillance Camera Upgrades portion of
the Terminal Security Upgrades Project, IDOT CSVI Contract No. 5819.
2. That the contract, bonds, and certificate of insurance provided by K & W Electric are
hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute said
documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
