RESOLUTION NO. 2025-111
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING PET LICENSE FEES.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo requires all pet owners to license their pets to ensure
public health and safety, as well as to facilitate the return of lost pets to their owners; and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the need to periodically review and adjust pet
license fees to cover administrative costs and to promote responsible pet ownership within the
community; and
WHEREAS, the proposed fee structure aims to ensure affordability while also meeting
the operational needs of the City's animal control services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. That the following pet license fees are hereby established as follows:
Annual license fee: Spayed/Neutered Dogs and Cats $15
Annual license fee: Non-Spayed/Non-Neutered Dogs and Cats $25
License late fee: $5
Duplicate license fee: $5
Convenience fee per transaction: $2
2. That these fees are intended to cover processing, issuance, and administrative costs
associated with pet licensing within the City.
3. That the City Clerk and Animal Control Officer are authorized and directed to
implement the fee schedule and ensure public awareness of these requirements through
appropriate communication channels.
