RESOLUTION NO. 2025-114
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A LEVEE IMPROVEMENT
FUND GRANT APPLICATION TO THE STATE OF IOWA, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2024 HAWTHORNE AVENUE
STORM SEWER LIFT STATION RELIEF WELL PROJECT,
CONTRACT NO. 1066, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo seeks to enhance its infrastructure to mitigate flood
risks and improve stormwater management through the FY 2024 Hawthorne Avenue Storm
Sewer Lift Station Relief Well Project, identified as Contract No. 1066; and
WHEREAS, the State of Iowa provides financial assistance through the Levee
Improvement Fund to support municipal projects aimed at enhancing levee and stormwater
infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, the City aims to apply for this grant to secure additional funding necessary
to complete the project and achieve the desired infrastructural improvements; and
WHEREAS, the application for the Levee Improvement Fund Grant has been prepared in
accordance with state guidelines and is ready for submission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. That the grant application to the State of Iowa's Levee Improvement Fund for the FY
2024 Hawthorne Avenue Storm Sewer Lift Station Relief Well Project, Contract No. 1066, is
hereby approved.
2. That, if awarded, the grant funds will be used exclusively for costs associated with the
stated project under Contract No. 1066.
3. That the Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said document on behalf of the
City of Waterloo, Iowa.
