RESOLUTION NO. 2025-115
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN APPLICATION TO
THE BLACK HAWK COUNTY METROPOLITAN PLANNING
ORGANIZATION (MPO) FOR TRANSPORTATION
ALTERNATIVES SET -ASIDE PROGRAM FUNDING (TASA)
FOR THE CEDAR PRAIRIE TRAIL REPLACEMENT
PROJECT AND DIRECTING THE EXECUTION OF SAID
APPLICATION BY THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is committed to enhancing its transportation
infrastructure and promoting alternative transportation modes through the development and
maintenance of its trail systems; and
WHEREAS, the Cedar Prairie Trail Replacement Project is an essential initiative aimed
at upgrading and improving trail conditions to ensure safety and usability for all users; and
WHEREAS, funding is available through the Transportation Alternatives Set -Aside
(TASA) Program facilitated by the Black Hawk County Metropolitan Planning Organization
(MPO), providing financial support for qualified transportation projects; and
WHEREAS, an application has been prepared seeking TASA funding to assist in the
costs associated with the Cedar Prairie Trail Replacement Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. That the application to the Black Hawk County MPO for TASA funding for the Cedar
Prairie Trail Replacement Project is hereby approved.
2. That upon approval and receipt of funding, the City will ensure compliance with all
applicable requirements and stipulations set forth by the TASA Program.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said document
on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
