RESOLUTION NO. 2025-144
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONSTRUCTION
AGREEMENT WITH THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY2023
SUNNYSIDE CREEK IMPROVEMENTS WET DETENTION
POND AND CHANNEL STABILIZATION PROJECT,
CONTRACT NO. 1062, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is undertaking the Sunnyside Creek Improvements
Project, aimed at constructing a wet detention pond and stabilizing the channel under Contract
No. 1062 to enhance flood control and environmental quality; and
WHEREAS, collaboration with the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) is
necessary to ensure coordination and compliance with state transportation and infrastructure
requirements; and
WHEREAS, the Construction Agreement outlines the roles, responsibilities, and funding
arrangements between the City of Waterloo and the Iowa DOT, thereby facilitating successful
project execution;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The Construction Agreement with the Iowa Department of Transportation, related to
the FY2023 Sunnyside Creek Improvements Wet Detention Pond and Channel Stabilization
Project, Contract No. 1062, is hereby approved.
2. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its approval and adoption by
the City Council.
