RESOLUTION NO. 2025-125
A RESOLUTION SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING AS
MARCH 17, 2025, FOR APPROVAL OF A DEVELOPMENT
AGREEMENT WITH IOWA HEARTLAND HABITAT FOR
HUMANITY, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE SALE AND
CONVEYANCE OF 406 RANDALL STREET LOCATED WITHIN
THE CHURCH ROW NEIGHBORHOOD, WITH A GRANT OF
$5,000.00 FOR INFILL HOUSING DEVELOPMENT FOR THE
ADDITION OF A NEW SINGLE-FAMILY HOME, AND INSTRUCT
THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is committed to encouraging housing development and
revitalization within its neighborhoods, including the Church Row Neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity has proposed a Development
Agreement involving the sale and conveyance of the property located at 406 Randall Street,
enabling the construction of a new single-family home as part of the city's infill housing
development strategy; and
WHEREAS, the agreement includes a grant of $5,000.00 to support the development
efforts and promote community revitalization; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing is necessary to approve the Development Agreement and
ensure transparency and community involvement in the decision -making process;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. That a public hearing shall be held on March 17, 2025, at the Harold E. Getty Council
Chambers, City Hall, 715 Mulberry Street, Waterloo, Iowa, for the approval of the Development
Agreement with Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity, regarding the sale and conveyance of 406
Randall Street, and the provision of a $5,000.00 grant for infill housing development.
2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of said public hearing in
accordance with applicable laws and city policies, ensuring adequate notice to the public.
3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its approval and adoption by
the City Council.
