RESOLUTION NO. 2025-178 A RESOLUTION ADOPTING ONE FREE HOUR OF PARKING FOR BOTH ON -STREET AND PARKING RAMPS, THE RATE OF $1.00 PER HOUR FOR ON -STREET PARKING AND PARKING RAMPS AFTER THE ONE -HOUR FREE PARKING, A RATE OF $2.00 PER HOUR FOR ON -STREET PARKING AFTER FOUR HOURS, AND A CAP OF $6.00 PER DAY IN THE PARKING RAMPS, EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 2025. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo seeks to manage parking resources efficiently and accommodate the needs of residents and visitors; and WHEREAS, providing a structured parking fee schedule aims to improve access and usage of both on -street and parking ramp facilities within the city; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as follows: 1. Adoption of Parking Fee Schedule Effective May 1, 2025, the following parking fee schedules shall be implemented for all city -owned parking facilities: Parking Kiosks First Hour: Free/Courtesy Thereafter: $1.00/hour $2.00/hour after 4 hours Special Event Ramp Rates $5.00 event parking Note: No free parking during events Parking Ramps Rates First Hour: Free/Courtesy Subsequent Hours: $1.00/hour Cap: $6.00 maximum per day, regardless of the total number of hours parked Lost Ticket/ Daily Rate in Ramps: $6.00 All Parking Ramp Subscription Rates Reserved Spot Subscription: $50.00 per month General Permit Subscription: $35.00 per month Discounts for Multiple Parking Subscriptions For 3-7 subscriptions: 5% For 8-12 subscriptions: 10% For 13-17 subscriptions: 15% For 17-50 subscriptions: 20% For over 50 subscriptions: 25% Annual Billing Discount: 10% Implementation and Administration 2. The City Traffic Department shall oversee and ensure the implementation of this schedule, including the installation and maintenance of necessary signage and kiosks. Resolution 2025-178 Page 2 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its approval and adoption by the City Council.
