RESOLUTION NO. 2025-153
A RESOLUTION APPROVING COMPLETION OF PROJECT
AND RECOMMENDATION OF ACCEPTANCE OF WORK
FOR WORK PERFORMED BY VIETH CONSTRUCTION
CORPORATION, OF CEDAR FALLS, IOWA, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $1,840,622.31, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
FY 2022 SULLIVAN BROTHERS PLAZA RENOVATION,
CONTRACT NO. 1069, AND RECEIVE AND FILE A TWO-
YEAR MAINTENANCE BOND.
WHEREAS, the FY 2022 Sullivan Brothers Plaza Renovation, Contract No. 1069, has
been conducted to revitalize and enhance the Plaza for the community's benefit; and
WHEREAS, Vieth Construction Corporation of Cedar Falls, Iowa, has executed the work
per the contract agreement and specifications, scoring satisfactory assessment by the City
Engineer; and
WHEREAS, the final contract amount for the successfully completed project is
$1,840,622.31; and
WHEREAS, a two-year maintenance bond has been provided to secure the work's quality
and long-term performance, and it is necessary to receive and file this bond for the municipality's
records;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The City Council hereby approves the completion of the FY 2022 Sullivan Brothers
Plaza Renovation Project, as performed by Vieth Construction Corporation.
2. The work is accepted as complete, reflecting a total cost of $1,840,622.31.
3. The two-year maintenance bond provided by Vieth Construction Corporation is hereby
received and filed
4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval.
