RESOLUTION NO. 2025-159
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE AND
CONVEYANCE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY LOCATED AT
406 RANDALL STREET, TO IOWA HEARTLAND HABITAT
FOR HUMANITY, IN THE AMOUNT OF $1.00, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, is the owner of certain real property located at
406 Randall Street, legally described as The East 30 feet of Lot 7, in Block 3, First Addition to
Oak Lawn, Black Hawk County, Iowa; and
WHEREAS, Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit organization, has
expressed interest in acquiring said property for the purpose of constructing affordable housing;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Waterloo has determined that the conveyance of this
property to Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity for the nominal consideration of $1.00 is in the
best interest of the city and supports local housing initiatives; and
WHEREAS, all required public notices have been duly published, and no objections to
the proposed sale have been filed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The City Council hereby approves the sale and conveyance of the property located at
406 Randall Street to Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity in the amount of $1.00.
2. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its approval and adoption by
the City Council.
