RESOLUTION NO. 2025-160 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT WITH IOWA HEARTLAND HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, WITH A GRANT OF $5,000.00 FOR INFILL HOUSING DEVELOPMENT FOR THE ADDITION OF A NEW SINGLE-FAMILY HOME AT 406 RANDALL STREET, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo seeks to promote affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization through strategic partnerships and development agreements; and WHEREAS, Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity proposes to develop a new single- family home at 406 Randall Street as part of its infill housing initiatives; and WHEREAS, the City Council of Waterloo recognizes the benefits of such development in terms of community improvement and housing availability, and has negotiated terms for a development agreement including a grant in the amount of$5,000.00 to support this endeavor; and WHEREAS, all necessary public notices have been served, and no adverse comments have been received; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as follows: 1. The proposed Development Agreement between the City of Waterloo and Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity is hereby approved. 2. A grant of$5,000.00 is awarded to Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity for the purpose of supporting the infill housing development at 406 Randall Street. 3. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa. 4. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its approval and adoption by the City Council. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17`I' day of March 2025.
