RESOLUTION NO. 2025-193 A RESOLUTION SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING AS APRIL 21, 2025, TO APPROVE A REQUEST BY INTERNATIONAL PAPER FOR A SITE PLAN AMENDMENT IN THE M-2,P PLANNED INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT, TO CONSTRUCT A 969,000 SQUARE -FOOT MANUFACTURING FACILITY, LOCATED NORTH OF 3040 LEVERSEE ROAD, AND INSTRUCT THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH PUBLIC NOTICE. WHEREAS, International Paper has submitted a request for a Site Plan Amendment for constructing a 969,000 square -foot manufacturing facility in the "M-2, P" Planned Industrial District; and WHEREAS, the proposed site is located north of 3040 Leversee Road, within a district designated for industrial development under the city's zoning plan; and WHEREAS, the amendment request aligns with the city's planning objectives for industrial growth and economic development; and WHEREAS, a public hearing is required to provide an open forum for community input regarding this significant development proposal; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as follows: 1. A public hearing shall be held on April 21, 2025, at 5:30 P.M., in the Harold E. Getty Council Chambers, to consider the Site Plan Amendment request by International Paper for the proposed construction. 2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of said public hearing in accordance with applicable laws and city policies, ensuring adequate notice to the public. 3. All citizens and interested parties are invited to attend and participate in the hearing to express their views regarding the proposed Site Plan Amendment. 4. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its approval and adoption by the City Council. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of April 2025.
