RESOLUTION NO. 2025-239
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE FY 2026 BUDGET
INCLUDING TOTAL PROPERTY TAX ASKINGS OF
$53,838,715.00 AND A LEVY RATE OF $21.87965 FOR THE
BUDGET YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2026.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, has prepared and duly
considered a proposed budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the proposed budget includes total property tax asking’s of $53,838,715.00;
and
WHEREAS, the proposed levy rate for this budget period is set at $21.87965; and
WHEREAS, the budget has been prepared in accordance with Iowa Code and reflects the
city's financial planning for the forthcoming fiscal year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. That the budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, with total property tax asking’s
of $53,838,715.00, is hereby approved.
2. That a property tax levy rate of $21.87965 is hereby established for the fiscal year
beginning July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2026.
3. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to certify the budget as required and submit it to
the appropriate county and state officials as provided by law.
