RESOLUTION NO. 2025-221
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH AECOM OF WATERLOO, IOWA, IN AN
AMOUNT NOT -TO -EXCEED $59,700.00, IN CONJUNCTION
WITH SERVICES TO PERFORM A FEASIBILITY STUDY OF
THE POTENTIAL DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW BALLPARK
IN WATERLOO VERSUS RENOVATING RIVERFRONT
STADIUM, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is exploring the potential development of a new
ballpark as opposed to renovating the existing Riverfront Stadium to better serve the community
and promote local sports; and
WHEREAS, AECOM, a reputable firm located in Waterloo, Iowa, possesses the
necessary expertise to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study to evaluate both options; and
WHEREAS, engaging AECOM to perform this study will help the City of Waterloo
make an informed decision regarding the future of its sports infrastructure, ensuring optimal use
of resources; and
WHEREAS, AECOM has proposed to undertake the feasibility study for a fee not -to -
exceed $59,700.00, as set forth in the Professional Services Agreement on file; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed in the best interest of the City of Waterloo to proceed with the
Professional Services Agreement with AECOM for this purpose;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. That the City Council hereby approves the Professional Services Agreement with
AECOM of Waterloo, Iowa, in an amount not -to -exceed $59,700.00 for conducting a feasibility
study on the potential development of a new ballpark in Waterloo versus renovating Riverfront
Stadium.
2. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the City
of Waterloo, Iowa.
