RESOLUTION NO. 2025-244
A RESOLUTION APPROVING BYRNES AQUATIC CENTER
REVISED RATES AND MEMBERSHIP STRUCTURE.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo operates the Byrnes Aquatic Center at 801 Campbell
Avenue for the benefit of residents and surrounding communities; and
WHEREAS, a periodic review of user fees and membership structure has been conducted
to ensure operational sustainability, equitable access, and compliance with recommended
industry practices; and
WHEREAS, City staff recommend adoption of the following changes to the Byrnes
Aquatic Center rate and membership structure, as outlined below:
Membership Structure
Current Proposed
Individual $47.08 (tax included)
Child $25.00 (ages 9 & under, tax included)
Youth/Adult $50.00 (ages 10 & older, tax included)
Family $105.93 (tax included)
Lap Swim Pass $25.00 (tax included)
Senior $10.70 (tax included) $25.00 (tax included)
Additional Child $10.70 (tax included)
Daily Admissions Current Proposed
Under age 2 $2.00 (tax included) $5.00 (ages 2 & under, tax incl.)
Over age 2 $5.00 (tax included) $8.00 (ages 3 & older, tax incl.)
Lap Swim Daily $2.00 (tax included) $5.00 (tax included)
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. That the above Membership Structure and Daily Admissions rates for the Byrnes Aquatic
Center are hereby approved, effective beginning with the [2025] season.
2. That City staff are authorized and directed to implement the rates herein and to update all
schedules, forms, and publications accordingly.
