A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING APPROVAL OF
SPECIFICATIONS, BID DOCUMENTS, FORM OF
CONTRACT, AND AUTHORIZING TO PROCEED WITH THE
REHABILITATION OF RUNWAY 18-36 INSIDE RUNWAY
12-30 SAFETY AREA UNDER FAA AIP GRANT NO. 3-19-
0094-0XX-2025.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has identified the need to rehabilitate Runway 18-36
within the Safety Area of Runway 12-30 to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) regulations and maintain operational safety; and
WHEREAS, the Iowa Department of Transportation and the FAA have provided Grant
No. 3-19-0094-0XX-2025 in support of the project; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the detailed specifications, bid documents,
and the form of contract prepared in conjunction with this project; and
WHEREAS, these documents meet the required municipal and FAA standards for safety,
quality, and regulatory compliance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The City Council hereby approves the specifications, bid documents, and form of
contract associated with the "Rehabilitate Runway 18-36 Inside Runway 12-30 Safety Area"
project.
2. The appropriate City officials and staff are authorized to proceed with all necessary
actions required to finalize the project awards and initiate construction activities under the
provisions of FAA AIP Grant No. 3-19-0094-0XX-2025.
