A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE AND
CONVEYANCE OF TEN CITY-OWNED LOTS IN THE
CHURCH ROW NEIGHBORHOOD, TO IOWA HEARTLAND
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF
THIRTEEN NEW RESIDENTIAL UNITS, IN THE AMOUNT
OF $1.00, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is the owner of ten lots in the Church Row
Neighborhood, legally described as follows:

WHEREAS, Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity has proposed to build thirteen new
residential units on these lots,which will increase the availability of affordable housing and
foster neighborhood revitalization; and
WHEREAS, the proposed sale price for the lots is$1.00 to support the mission of Habitat
for Humanity and encourage the development of affordable housing within the city limits; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the sale of these lots to Iowa Heartland
Habitat for Humanity is in the best interest of the community and aligns with City goals of
fostering sustainable and inclusive neighborhood development.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The City Council hereby authorizes the sale and conveyance of the ten city-owned lots in
the Church Row Neighborhood to Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity for the nominal sum of
$1.00.
2. This resolution endorses the construction of thirteen new residential units as proposed by
Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity,promoting community development and affordable
housing.
3. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo.
