RESOLUTION NO. 2025-238
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A DEVELOPMENT
AGREEMENT WITH IOWA HEARTLAND HABITAT FOR
HUMANITY, WITH A GRANT OF $65,000.00 FOR INFILL
HOUSING DEVELOPMENT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF
THIRTEEN NEW RESIDENTIAL UNITS AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo aims to promote infill housing development to enhance
community growth and increase the availability of affordable housing options; and
WHEREAS, Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity plans to construct thirteen new
residential units within the Church Row Neighborhood, supporting the City's initiative for urban
development and community renewal; and
WHEREAS, the City has committed a grant of$65,000.00 to assist Iowa Heartland
Habitat for Humanity in this endeavor, ensuring the viability and success of the project through
financial support; and
WHEREAS, a Development Agreement outlining the commitments and responsibilities
of both parties has been prepared and requires approval and execution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo as
follows:
1. The City Council hereby approves the Development Agreement with Iowa Heartland
Habitat for Humanity, as detailed in the attached Exhibit A, for the construction of thirteen new
residential units within the specified area.
2. The City Council authorizes the allocation of$65,000.00 as a grant to Iowa Heartland
Habitat for Humanity for the purpose of supporting infill housing development.
3. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21' day of April 2025.
