RESOLUTION NO. 2025-268
RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE PROPOSED RESOLUTION
OF NECESSITY, AS PROPOSED OR AMENDED, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2026 SIDEWALK
INSPECTION AND REPAIR PROGRAM - ZONE 5A.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has an established Sidewalk Inspection and Repair
Program aimed at maintaining safe and accessible pedestrian pathways; and
WHEREAS, a Resolution of Necessity is required to proceed with repairs within Zone
5A for the fiscal year 2026, ensuring sidewalks meet safety and accessibility standards; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the Proposed Resolution of Necessity and any
amendments thereto, determining the necessity and scope of proposed sidewalk repairs in Zone
5A;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. The City Council hereby adopts the Proposed Resolution of Necessity, as prepared or
amended, recognizing the need for sidewalk repairs within Zone 5A.
2. The resolution shall encompass all necessary repairs identified during inspections
conducted within Zone 5A, including any updated assessments.
3. The Public Works Department is authorized and directed to proceed with the repair
activities as outlined in the resolution, in accordance with established city policies and
procedures.
4. Affected property owners shall be notified of the Resolution of Necessity and informed
of any responsibilities or assessments as stipulated by the city ordinance.
