RESOLUTION NO. 2025-266
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO
BITUMINOUS MATERIALS OF DES MOINES, IOWA, IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $277,100.00, APPROVING THE
CONTRACT, BONDS, AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE,
IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE STREET DEPARTMENT
ASPHALT EMULSIONS SEAL COAT PROGRAM, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has duly advertised for bids for the Asphalt Emulsions
Seal Coat Program, and bids were received and publicly opened; and
WHEREAS, the bid from Bituminous Materials of Des Moines, Iowa, was the lowest
responsible bid, in accordance with the city procurement policies, at a total cost not to exceed
$277,100.00; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Waterloo to proceed with this contract
to ensure the timely completion of necessary street maintenance and improvements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. The bid of Bituminous Materials of Des Moines, Iowa, in an amount not to exceed
$277,100.00, is hereby accepted and approved.
2. The contract, bonds, and certificate of insurance for the project are hereby approved
and accepted as to form and content.
3. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
