HomeMy WebLinkAbout2023-026-10.4.2023.docRESOLUTION NO. 2023-026 RESOLUTION APPROVING PRELIMINARY PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, FORM OF CONTRACT, ETC. AND SETTING DATE OF BID OPENING AS OCTOBER 12, 2023 AND PUBLIC HEARING AS OCTOBER 18, 2023, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY2023 DROPS AND INSTALLATION OF A FIBER-TO-THE-PREMISE NETWORK, CONTRACT NO. 1094. WHEREAS, preliminary plans, specifications, and form of contract have been prepared to facilitate the commencement of the FY2023 Drops and Installation project, known as Contract No. 1094; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to approve these documents to progress with the bidding process and project execution, consistent with applicable statutes and municipal guidelines. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Waterloo, Iowa, that: 1. That the preliminary plans, specifications, and form of contract for the FY2023 Drops and Installation of a Fiber-to-the-Premise Network, Contract No. 1094, are hereby approved. 2. That the estimated cost of the project is deemed reasonable and in alignment with the Utility’s fiscal planning goals and objectives. 3. That the bid opening shall take place on the 12th day of October, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in City Hall, to receive competitive bids from qualified contractors, and a public hearing on said plans, specifications, contract form, and estimated cost shall be held on the 18th day of October, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. in City Hall, allowing for public input and discussion. 4. That the Board Secretary is authorized and directed to publish notice thereof.
