RESOLUTION NO. 2025-307 RESOLUTION APPROVING A FARM LEASE AGREEMENT, EXPIRING DECEMBER 31, 2025, WITH MICHAEL S. COOK, TO FARM APPROXIMATELY 5.25 ACRES OF LAND FOR $1,050.00, LOCATED SOUTH OF 2080 NORTHEAST DRIVE, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo owns approximately 5.25 acres of land located south of 2080 Northeast Drive, which is suitable for agricultural purposes; and WHEREAS, Michael S. Cook has expressed an interest in leasing this land for farming, and an agreement has been reached with a lease amount of $1,050.00, expiring December 31, 2025; and WHEREAS, it is deemed beneficial to the City to enter into a Farm Lease Agreement with Michael S. Cook under the terms specified to utilize the land effectively and support local agricultural endeavors;; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, 1. The Farm Lease Agreement with Michael S. Cook, for farming approximately 5.25 acres of land located south of 2080 Northeast Drive for the amount of $1,050.00, expiring December 31, 2025, is hereby approved. 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said document on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of May 2025.
