RESOLUTION NO. 2025-346
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING AN APPLICATION BY BIG
HAND PEPPER, LLC, FOR THE IOWA WORKFORCE
HOUSING TAX CREDIT PROGRAM, TO CONSTRUCT 15
NEW SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLINGS AT THE WATERLOO
COMMUNITY SCHOOL CONFERENCE CENTER, LOCATED
AT 1554 OAKWOOD DRIVE, AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE COMMUNITY INPUT FORM.
WHEREAS, Big Hand Pepper, LLC, herein referred to as "the Applicant," has proposed
the construction of fifteen (15) new single-family dwellings; and
WHEREAS, the proposed development is to be located at the Waterloo Community
School conference center situated at 1554 Oakwood Drive, within the jurisdiction of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa; and
WHEREAS, the Iowa Workforce Housing Tax Credit Program, administered by the Iowa
Economic Development Authority, provides vital incentives for the development of workforce
housing projects to promote community development and economic growth; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed project aligns with the City's
strategic goals and housing needs, and that it is beneficial for the community to support the
Applicant's application for the Iowa Workforce Housing Tax Credit Program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. The City Council hereby supports the application by Big Hand Pepper, LLC to the Iowa
Economic Development Authority for the Iowa Workforce Housing Tax Credit Program for the
construction of fifteen (15) new single-family dwellings at the Waterloo Community School
conference center, located at 1554 Oakwood Drive.
2. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said document on behalf of the City of
Waterloo, Iowa.
