RESOLUTION NO. 2025-313 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REQUEST BY AGNES LAZUM, FOR TAX EXEMPTIONS ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW SINGLE-FAMILY HOME VALUED AT $319,000.00, FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 121 AXLEWOOD DRIVE AND LOCATED IN THE CONSOLIDATED URBAN REVITALIZATION AREA (CURA). WHEREAS, Agnes Lazum, property owner, has submitted a request for tax exemptions under the Consolidated Urban Revitalization Area (CURA) program for a newly constructed single-family home valued at $319,000.00; and WHEREAS, the property is located at 121 Axlewood Drive, within the designated Consolidated Urban Revitalization Area, as established by City of Waterloo ordinances to encourage development and improvement of specified areas; and WHEREAS, the new construction of this single-family home meets the eligibility criteria as outlined in the CURA plan, which aims to foster residential development and investment in the urban core; and WHEREAS, granting this tax exemption is anticipated to enhance the local housing stock, stimulate economic growth, and promote community revitalization; and WHEREAS, the request has been reviewed by city staff and complies with all necessary requirements for participation in the CURA program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, 1. The City Council hereby approves the request for tax exemptions for the construction of the new single-family home located at 121 Axlewood Drive, valued at $319,000.00, as per the guidelines of the Consolidated Urban Revitalization Area plan. 2. The property owner, Agnes Lazum, shall be eligible for specified tax exemptions subject to compliance with the terms and duration set forth in the CURA.
