RESOLUTION NO. 2025-337 RESOLUTION APPROVING A FARM LEASE AGREEMENT, EXPIRING DECEMBER 31, 2025, WITH CHARLES WASKOW, TO FARM APPROXIMATELY 28.5 ACRES OF LAND FOR $6,412.50, LOCATED BETWEEN NEWELL STREET AND MLK JR. DRIVE, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT. WHEREAS the City of Waterloo owns approximately 28.5 acres of land located between Newell Street and MLK Jr. Drive; and WHEREAS, Charles Waskow has expressed interest in leasing this land for farming purposes under terms that include an annual lease payment of $6,412.50; and WHEREAS, the proposed farm lease agreement specifies a term expiring on December 31, 2025, and has been reviewed to ensure compliance with local regulations and city land use policies; and WHEREAS, the leasing of this land for agriculture supports sustainable use of city properties and generates revenue to support municipal programs; and WHEREAS, the terms and conditions of the Farm Lease Agreement have been reviewed and are recommended for approval by the appropriate city departments; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, 1. The Farm Lease Agreement with Charles Waskow to farm approximately 28.5 acres of land between Newell Street and MLK Jr. Drive, with an expiration date of December 31, 2025, and an annual lease payment of $6,412.50, is hereby approved. 2.
