RESOLUTION NO. 2012-863
RESOLUTION MAKING AWARD OF CONTRACT TO
FRICKSON BROTHERS EXCAVATING OF EVANSDALE,
IOWA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $49,100.00, AND
APPROVING CONTRACT, BOND AND CERTIFICATE OF
INSURANCE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE DEMOLITION
AND SITE CLEARANCE PROJECT, CONTRACT NO. 176-
D -EDI -08-20-12, FOR THE FOLLOWING PROPERTIES:
120 RANDOLPH STREET; 213 NORTH BARCLAY
STREET; 318 EAST 9TH STREET; 1003 LAFAYETTE
STREET; 115 SMITH STREET; 214-216
INDEPENDENCE AVENUE; 622 FOWLER STREET; 1120
WEST 5TH STREET (GARAGE ONLY); AND 313 QUINCY
STREET (GARAGE ONLY).
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA:
That the Contract, Bond and Certificate of Insurance with
Frickson Brothers Excavating of Evansdale, Iowa, in the amount of
$49,100.00, in conjunction with the Demolition and Site Clearance
Project, Contract No. 176 -D -EDI -08-20-12, for the following
properties: 120 Randolph Street; 213 North Barclay Street; 318
East 9th Street; 1003 Lafayette Street; 115 Smith Street; 214-216
Independence Avenue; 622 Fowler Street; 1120 West 5th Street
(garage only); and 313 Quincy Street (garage only), described in
the plans and specifications heretofore adopted by this Council
for said project in Resolution No. 2012-833, after public hearing
on August 20, 2012 on published notice required by law, be and is
hereby accepted, the same being the lowest bid received for said
work.
The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby directed to execute
contract with the said contractor for the construction of said
improvements, said contract not to be binding on the City until
approved by this Council.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of August, 2012.
