RESOLUTION NO. 2025-372
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING AN APPLICATION BY IOWA
HEARTLAND HABITAT FOR HUMANITY FOR THE IOWA
WORKFORCE HOUSING TAX CREDIT PROGRAM, TO
CONSTRUCT SIX NEW DWELLINGS, WITH FOUR
LOCATED AT 624-626 WEST PARK AVENUE AND TWO AT
516 PINE STREET, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo continues to strive to enhance quality housing and
expand access to affordable homes within the community; and
WHEREAS, the Iowa Workforce Housing Tax Credit Program provides essential tax
incentives for the development of workforce housing across the state; and
WHEREAS, Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity intends to apply for said tax credits to
facilitate the construction of six new dwellings, with four units to be located at 624-626 West
Park Avenue and two units at 516 Pine Street in Waterloo, Iowa; and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that this development aligns with our strategic
goals to enhance residential opportunities and support community development;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The City Council hereby expresses its support for Iowa Heartland Habitat for
Humanity's application to the Iowa Workforce Housing Tax Credit Program for the described
proj ect.
2. The City Council finds that this resolution will promote the general welfare, health,
and safety of the community by enhancing affordable housing availability.
3. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the City
of Waterloo, Iowa.
