RESOLUTION APPROVING SUBMISSION OF THE FY 26
ANNUAL ACTION PLAN TO THE US DEPARTMENT OF
HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT ON OR ABOUT
JULY 9, 2025.
WHEREAS, he City of Waterloo actively participates in community development and
housing programs funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to
enhance local housing, living standards, and economic opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the FY 26 Annual Action Plan outlines the strategic use of HUD funds to
address community needs, including affordable housing, economic development, and public
services, as identified through community engagement and assessment; and
WHEREAS, the timely submission of the Annual Action Plan is essential to securing the
necessary funding and maintaining compliance with HUD regulations; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the FY 26 Annual Action Plan and supports
its objectives and strategies to improve the quality of life for Waterloo residents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The Community Development Director is authorized to submit the FY 26 Annual
Action Plan to HUD on or about July 9, 2025, and to take any necessary actions to complete the
submission process.
2. The City affirms its commitment to the Plan's objectives, supporting initiatives that
promote quality, affordable housing and sustainable development across the community.
