RESOLUTION NO. 2025-367
RESOLUTION APPROVING SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT
NO. 1, TO A RISE AGREEMENT WITH THE IOWA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, ORIGINALLY
EXECUTED APRIL 7, 2025, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
FY 2026 DAKOTA DRIVE EXTENSION, CONTRACT 1129,
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo entered into a RISE (Revitalize Iowa's Sound
Economy) Agreement with the Iowa Depaitinent of Transportation, executed on April 7, 2025, to
facilitate the Dakota Drive Extension project under Contract 1129; and
WHEREAS, continued collaboration and adjustments are necessary to ensure the project
aligns with strategic objectives and to accommodate scope modifications or funding alterations
as outlined in Supplemental Agreement No. 1; and
WHEREAS, the City Council acknowledges the importance of advancing infrastructure
projects that bolster economic growth and improve local connectivity; and
WHEREAS, the execution of Supplemental Agreement No. 1 is deemed beneficial for
supporting the goals outlined in the original RISE Agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The City Council hereby approves Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to the RISE
Agreement with the Iowa Department of Transportation, specifically concerning the FY 2026
Dakota Drive Extension, Contract 1129.
2. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
