RESOLUTION NO. 2025-373
RESOLUTION APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT BETWEEN GROW CEDAR VALLEY AND THE
CITY OF WATERLOO, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$231,600.00 FOR THE FY26 AND FY27 BUSINESS
PARTNERSHIP, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo recognizes the ongoing need to stimulate economic
growth and foster business partnerships to benefit the local community; and
WHEREAS, Grow Cedar Valley, as a key regional economic development organization,
offers valuable services to promote business development and community networking; and
WHEREAS, a professional services agreement has been proposed, covering FY26 and
FY27, in an amount not to exceed $231,600.00, to formalize this business partnership and
leverage the strengths of both organizations in achieving economic development goals; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and determined that entering into this
agreement serves the best interests of the city and supports strategic economic objectives;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The City Council hereby approves the professional services agreement with Grow
Cedar Valley, in an amount not to exceed $231,600.00, to advance economic development
initiatives during FY26 and FY27.
2. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
