RESOLUTION NO. 2012-1187
RESOLUTION FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE OF
HEARING AND NOTICE TO BE GIVEN ON THE
VACATION OF A PORTION OF PUBLIC ALLEY IN
BLOCK 18 OF LINDEN PLACE, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS
THE FORMER LAFAYETTE SCHOOL SITE, LOCATED AT
2265 LAFAYETTE STREET, AS JANUARY 7, 2013, AT
5:30 P.M. IN CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS,
WATERLOO, IOWA, AND INSTRUCTING THE CITY
CLERK TO PUBLISH THE NOTICE OF HEARING.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa,
shall meet at City Hall Council Chambers in the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, at 5:30 p.m. on the 7th day of January, 2013, for the
purpose of considering and acting upon a proposal to vacate a
portion of public alley in Block 18 of Linden Place, otherwise
known as the former Lafayette School site, located at 2265
Lafayette Street, and legally described as follows:
That part of the 16 foot wide public alley in Block 18
of Linden Place lying Northerly of a line drawn between
the Southeasterly corner of Lot 7 of said Block 18 and
the Southwesterly corner of Lot 8 of said Block 18 and
lying Southerly of a line drawn between the Northeast
corner of Lot 6 of said Block 18 and lying Southerly of
a line drawn between the Northeast corner of Lot 6 of
said Block 18 and the Northwesterly corner of Lot 11 of
said Block 18, City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County,
Iowa, with reservation of a utility easement over,
under and upon the above described area.
Section 2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to
publish notice of the time and place of said hearing in the
Waterloo Courier.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of December, 2012.
