RESOLUTION NO. 2013-2 RESOLUTION MAKING ASSESSMENT FOR WORK PERFORMED BY THE WATER WORKS. WHEREAS, the Board of Water Works Trustees of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, did, as provided by law, notify by written notice the property owner of the premises described below to have the repairs completed and further damage prevented, and WHEREAS, the property owner failed to comply with the order of the Board of Water Works Trustees, as by law provided, and WHEREAS, the Board of Water Works Trustees proceeded to have the work done on the premises described below, in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, to comply with Ordinance No. 1118 of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, and WHEREAS, the Board of Water Works Trustees filed with the City Clerk on the 27th day of December, 2012, a report filing claim for the repairs and preventing further damage at the below described premises and same met all the requirements of the City ordinance and have been fully completed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, that the said report of the Board of Water Works Trustees be, and the same is hereby, approved; that the work was done under and by virtue hereby, accepted, and that the cost of said work is hereby determined to be as follows, which amount can be assessed over a ten-year period against the property: Stephen Joseph Stevens and Alisa Stevens, Owners 626 Anthony Street, Waterloo, Iowa Legal Description: East Fifty-two (52) feet of the North One Hundred Thirty-five and One-tenth (135.1) feet in Block No. Thirteen (13) in "City View Heights" in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa. Unpaid Assessment: $3,075.00 Randy McCann and Candy McCann, Owners, Contract Purchasers Allen L. Grote and Sylvia A. Unpaid Assessment: $2,800.00 Elvan Wooten, also known as Alvin Wooten and Verdella Wooten, Owner 119 Argyle Street, Waterloo, Iowa Legal Description: West Thirty (30) feet of the North Ninety (90) feet of Lot No. Eleven (11) in Auditor Rainbow's Replat, in the City of Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa. Unpaid Assessment: $1,800.00 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there be, and are hereby assessed and levied a special tax and assessment against the property improved in the City of Waterloo, Iowa, said assessment shall bear interest from the date of levy of the assessment, viz: January 7, 2013, at the rate of nine (9) percent per annum until paid on all the unpaid amount of this assessment certified to the County Treasurer of Black Hawk County, Iowa, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and she is hereby instructed to notify the above described property owners of said property, accordingly and also instructed to certify said assessment to the County Treasurer of Black Hawk County, Iowa, to be entered upon the tax list to be collected as other taxes, as provided by law, and when collected to be credited to the Water Works Fund of said City, and assessment to be made over a ten- year period.
