RESOLUTION NO. 2025-394
RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH BLACK
HAWK SPRINKLERS, INC. OF WATERLOO, IOWA, IN THE
AMOUNT OF $40,730.00, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
SERVER ROOM DRY FOAM SPRINKLER SYSTEM, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo recognizes the necessity of protecting critical IT
infrastructure, including server rooms, with adequate fire suppression systems that prevent both
fire damage and water damage; and
WHEREAS, Black Hawk Sprinklers, Inc. of Waterloo, Iowa, has proposed a solution
involving the installation of a state-of-the-art dry foam sprinkler system designed to protect
sensitive server equipment effectively; and
WHEREAS, the procurement of this system in the amount of $40,730.00 represents a
prudent investment in safeguarding vital technological assets, ensuring continuity and security of
City operations; and
WHEREAS, it is essential to formalize this agreement to proceed with the installation and
integration of the dry foam sprinkler system, utilizing the expertise of Black Hawk Sprinklers,
Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The agreement with Black Hawk Sprinklers, Inc. for the installation of a server room
dry foam sprinkler system, in the amount of $40,730.00, is hereby approved.
2. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the City
of Waterloo, Iowa.
