RESOLUTION NO. 2025-395
RESOLUTION APPROVING A COOPERATIVE SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH USDA WILDLIFE SERVICES TO
MINIMIZE WILDLIFE -RELATED PROPERTY DAMAGE AND
RISK TO HUMAN HEALTH AND SAFETY, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID
DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo faces challenges related to wildlife that can lead to
property damage and pose risks to human health and safety; and
WHEREAS, USDA Wildlife Services possesses the expertise and resources necessary to
address and mitigate these wildlife -related issues through effective management and intervention
strategies; and
WHEREAS, entering into a Cooperative Services Agreement with USDA Wildlife
Services will facilitate the provision of specialized services aimed at minimizing wildlife
conflicts and enhancing public safety; and
WHEREAS, collaboration with USDA Wildlife Services aligns with the City's
commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for its residents and is considered a
proactive measure to address potential wildlife -related concerns.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The Cooperative Services Agreement with USDA Wildlife Services is hereby
approved, enabling strategic actions and support to minimize wildlife -related property damage
and health risks.
2. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the City
of Waterloo, Iowa.
