RESOLUTION NO. 2025-397
RESOLUTION APPROVING A JOINT PROJECT
AGREEMENT WITH THE WATERLOO COMMUNITY
SCHOOL DISTRICT, TO REIMBURSE THE CITY FOR
DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION COSTS FOR ROADWORK
ASSOCIATED WITH THE NEW HIGH SCHOOL, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the Waterloo Community School District is in the process of developing a
new high school, requiring associated roadwork to ensure adequate access and safety for
students, faculty, and visitors; and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has agreed to manage the design and construction of
said roadwork to facilitate timely and coordinated project implementation; and
WHEREAS, the Joint Project Agreement outlines the terms for the Waterloo Community
School District to reimburse the City for the incurred costs related to the design and construction
of the roadwork, promoting a collaborative approach to infrastructure development; and
WHEREAS, this agreement is essential to ensure proper allocation of resources and
accountability, supporting the completion of necessary infrastructure improvements aligned with
the new high school's operational requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The Joint Project Agreement with the Waterloo Community School District is hereby
approved, stipulating reimbursement for design and construction costs associated with roadwork
for the new high school.
2. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
