RESOLUTION NO. 2025-403
RESOLUTION GRANTING THE UNITED STATES
DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE (DOC), ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION (EDA) CERTAIN
FINANCIAL ASSURANCES IN CONJUNCTION WITH A
DISASTER RECOVERY GRANT APPLICATION.
WHEREAS the City has applied for a disaster recovery grant from the United States
Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA), to assist with
recovery and rebuilding efforts; and
WHEREAS, the application process for such a grant necessitates the granting of financial
assurances to the EDA to affirm the City of Waterloo's commitment to utilizing the funds
responsibly and meeting the stipulated grant conditions; and
WHEREAS, assurance of financial responsibility and accountability is essential to secure
funding that will aid in the city's recovery efforts and long-term resilience planning
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The City of Waterloo hereby grants the necessary financial assurances to the United
States Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration, as required under the
disaster recovery grant application process.
2. The City of Waterloo affirms its commitment to following all conditions and
guidelines set forth by the EDA, ensuring proper management and use of awarded grant funds.
3. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
