RESOLUTION NO. 2025-381 RESOLUTION SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING AS JULY 21, 2025, TO APPROVE A VACATE REQUEST BY THE CITY OF WATERLOO TO VACATE A 20-FOOT DRAINAGE EASEMENT ON LOTS 4 AND 5 OF WARP 2ND ADDITION IN THE "M-2,P" PLANNED INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT LOCATED AT AND ADJACENT TO 4050 LEVERSEE ROAD, AND INSTRUCT THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has initiated a request to vacate a 20-foot drainage easement on Lots 4 and 5 of Warp 2nd Addition, located in the "M-2,P" Planned Industrial District at and adjacent to 4050 Leversee Road; and WHEREAS, vacating this drainage easement is necessary to facilitate potential redevelopment activities and ensure better land utilization while maintaining adherence to all legal and environmental guidelines; and WHEREAS, it is required to set a public hearing date to consider this easement vacation and allow for public comment, ensuring transparency and community engagement in municipal decisions impacting local infrastructure. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA, 1. A public hearing on the proposed vacate request is hereby set for July 21, 2025, to consider the City of Waterloo's request to vacate a 20-foot drainage easement on Lots 4 and 5 of Warp 2nd Addition in the "M-2,P" Planned Industrial District. 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of said public hearing in accordance with applicable laws and city policies, ensuring adequate notice to the public.
