RESOLUTION NO. 2025-383
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN EXCEPTION TO THE
CITY OF WATERLOO'S PURCHASING POLICY, TO
APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF ONE 2025 TYPES I
SUPERLINER 171-INCH BODY FORD F-550 AMBULANCE
FROM LIFE LINE EMERGENCY VEHICLES OF SUMNER,
IOWA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $397,264.00.
WHEREAS the City of Waterloo's Purchasing Policy requires competitive bidding for
purchases exceeding a certain amount to ensure optimal use of public funds; and
WHEREAS, Life Line Emergency Vehicles of Sumner, Iowa, has been identified as a
specialized provider capable of delivering 2025 Types I Superliner 171-inch Body Ford F-550
Ambulance that meets the specific operational needs of the City; and
WHEREAS, after reviewing the unique requirements and specifications, it is determined
that competitive bidding processes may limit our ability to acquire an ambulance with the
necessary features within the desired timeframe; and
WHEREAS, the cost for the acquisition of the aforementioned ambulance from Life Line
Emergency Vehicles is $397,264.00, which is deemed fair and reasonable for the specialized
nature and quality of the vehicle provided.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. The City Council hereby authorizes an exception to the City's Purchasing Policy to
approve the purchase of one 2025 Types I Superliner 171-inch Body Ford F-550 Ambulance
from Life Line Emergency Vehicles of Sumner, Iowa, in the amount of $397,264.00.
