RESOLUTION SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING AS
AUGUST 4, 2025, TO APPROVE A REZONE REQUEST BY
MALCOLM CLEOPE TO REZONE APPROXIMATELY 0.27
ACRES OF LAND FROM "C-2" COMMERCIAL DISTRICT TO
"C-2, C-Z" CONDITIONAL ZONING DISTRICT TO ALLOW
FOR AN AQUACULTURE SHRIMP FARMING WHOLESALE
BUSINESS LOCATED AT 2625 FALLS AVENUE AND
INSTRUCT THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE.
WHEREAS, Malcolm Cleope has submitted a rezone request to change the zoning
classification of approximately 0.27 acres of land located at 2625 Falls Avenue from "C-2"
Commercial District to "C-2, C-Z" Conditional Zoning District to establish an aquaculture
shrimp farming wholesale business; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to hold a public hearing to consider the rezone request and
provide the public with the opportunity to comment on the proposed zoning change.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. That the date of the public hearing on the proposed rezone request is hereby set for
August 4, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. to be held at 715 Mulberry Street, Harold E. Getty Council
Chambers, City of Waterloo, Iowa.
2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of said public hearing in accordance
with applicable laws and city policies, ensuring adequate notice to the public.
