RESOLUTION SETTING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING AS
AUGUST 18, 2025, TO AUTHORIZE THE SALE AND
CONVEYANCE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY LOCATED
SOUTH OF 427 IOWA STREET, TO IOWA HEARTLAND
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, IN THE AMOUNT OF $1.00,
FOR THE REHABILITATION OF 427 IOWA STREET IN THE
WALNUT NEIGHBORHOOD, INCLUDING A
DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT, AND INSTRUCT THE CITY
CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo intends to sell and convey city -owned property located
south of 427 Iowa Street, to Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity; and
WHEREAS, the sale amount is set at $1.00 for the rehabilitation of 427 Iowa Street in the
Walnut Neighborhood, including a Development Agreement; and
WHEREAS, it is essential to conduct a public hearing for transparency and public
participation in the city's decision -making process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. A public hearing on the proposed sale and conveyance is hereby set for August 18,
2025, at 5:30 p.m. to be held at 715 Mulberry Street, Harold E. Getty Council Chambers, City of
Waterloo, Iowa, to consider the request by the City of Waterloo to sell and convey city -owned
property located south of 427 Iowa Street, in the amount of $1.00 to Iowa Heartland Habitat for
Humanity.
2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of said public hearing in accordance
with applicable laws and city policies, ensuring adequate notice to the public.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of August 2025.
