RESOLUTION NO. 2025-436
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE AWARD OF
HOTEL/MOTEL TAX COUNCIL DISCRETIONARY FUNDS
TO WATERLOO LEISURE SERVICES IN THE AMOUNT OF
$15,000.00, FOR THE FY 2026 SPORTSPLEX MARKETING
CAMPAIGN.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is committed to promoting cultural events that enhance
the community's cultural landscape and attract visitors to the area; and
WHEREAS, Waterloo Leisure Services has proposed a marketing campaign for FY 2026
designed to promote the SportsPlex, thereby enhancing the attraction of visitors and increasing
economic activity in the area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has designated hotel/motel tax revenues to support
local events and initiatives that promote tourism and cultural enrichment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA,
1. The City Council hereby approves the allocation of $15,000.00 from the hotel/motel
tax council discretionary funds to Waterloo Leisure Services for their FY 2026 SportsPlex
Marketing Campaign.
2. That the allocation of these funds supports the City's efforts in promoting the arts and
providing entertainment and educational opportunities to the residents and visitors of Waterloo.
