RESOLUTION NO. 2025-472 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF CITY-OWNED PROPERTY LOCATED SOUTH OF 427 IOWA STREET, TO IOWA HEARTLAND HABITAT FOR HUMANITY, IN THE AMOUNT OF $1.00, FOR THE REHABILITATION OF 427 IOWA STREET IN THE WALNUT NEIGHBORHOOD AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS. WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo, Iowa, owns certain real property located south of 427 Iowa Street, which has been identified as suitable for transfer to promote community enhancement and revitalization; and WHEREAS, Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity has expressed interest in acquiring this property for the nominal sum of$1.00 to facilitate the rehabilitation of 427 Iowa Street as part of efforts to revitalize and improve the Walnut Neighborhood; and WHEREAS, the proposed sale and conveyance serve the public good by supporting affordable housing initiatives, enhancing neighborhood stability, and aligning with the City of Waterloo's community development goals. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, that: 1. The sale and conveyance of the city-owned property located south of 427 Iowa Street to Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity, for the amount of$1.00, is hereby authorized for the purpose of rehabilitating the adjacent property at 427 Iowa Street. 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
