RESOLUTION NO. 2025-474
RESOLUTION APPROVING A HOLD HARMLESS
AGREEMENT WITH CEDAR VALLEY CATHOLIC
SCHOOLS OF WATERLOO, IOWA, IN CONJUNCTION WITH
STUDENT AND PARENT INGRESS AND EGRESS
THROUGH MILLER PARK OFF CAROLINA AVENUE FOR
THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR, AND BEYOND AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS Cedar Valley Catholic Schools of Waterloo, Iowa, requests permission for
students and parents to use Miller Park off Carolina Avenue for ingress and egress purposes for
the 2025-2026 school year and beyond; and
WHEREAS a Hold Harmless Agreement ensures that Cedar Valley Catholic Schools
will assume responsibility for any potential liabilities arising from the use of Miller Park for the
specified purposes; and
WHEREAS, entering into such an agreement supports community cooperation while
safeguarding city interests.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The Hold Harmless Agreement between the City of Waterloo and Cedar Valley
Catholic Schools, pertaining to the ingress and egress of students and parents through Miller
Park off Carolina Avenue for the 2025-2026 school year and beyond, is hereby approved.
2. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of August 2025.
