RESOLUTION NO. 2025-461
RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AWARD AGREEMENT
WITH THE IOWA LEVEE IMPROVEMENT FUND, FOR A
GRANT 1N THE AMOUNT OF $280,000.00, 1N
CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2024 HAWTHORNE AVENUE
STORM SEWER LIFT STATION RELIEF WELL, CONTRACT
NO. 1066, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has been awarded a grant in the amount of two
hundred eighty thousand dollars ($280,000.00) from the Iowa Levee Improvement Fund; and
WHEREAS, the grant will be used in conjunction with the FY 2024 Hawthorne Avenue
Storm Sewer Lift Station Relief Well, Contract No. 1066; and
WHEREAS, the grant supports the City's ongoing efforts to improve stormwater
management infrastructure, thereby enhancing community safety and resilience against flooding;
and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City to formally approve the Award Agreement with
the Iowa Levee Improvement Fund and authorize the execution of said document to secure the
grant funding;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The Award Agreement with the Iowa Levee Improvement Fund for a grant in the
amount of $280,000.00 is hereby approved.
2. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said document on
behalf of the City of Waterloo.
