RESOLUTION NO. 2025-481
RESOLUTION APPROVING PRELIMINARY PLANS,
SPECIFICATIONS, FORM OF CONTRACT, ETC., SETTING
DATE OF BID OPENING AS SEPTEMBER 18, 2025, AND
DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING AS OCTOBER 6, 2025, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE FY 2026 WINN STREET
SANITARY SEWER, CONTRACT NO. 1134, AND INSTRUCT
THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo has prepared preliminary plans, specifications, and the
form of contract for the FY 2026 Winn Street Sanitary Sewer, Contract No. 1134, to improve
sanitary sewer services in the designated area; and
WHEREAS, the proposed improvements align with the City of Waterloo's infrastructure
goals and capital improvement plans, enhancing public health and environmental standards in the
community; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary and appropriate to proceed with the procurement
process, including public bids, to ensure transparency, competitiveness, and value for the city.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The preliminary plans, specifications, form of contract, and related documents for the
FY 2026 Winn Street Sanitary Sewer Project, Contract No. 1134, are hereby approved.
2. The date for the opening of bids for FY 2026 Winn Street Sanitary Sewer Project,
Contract No. 1134 is set for September 18, 2025, and the public hearing on the proposed contract
and specifications is set for October 6, 2025.
3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of said public hearing in accordance
with applicable laws and city policies, ensuring adequate notice to the public.
