RESOLUTION NO. 2025-482
RESOLUTION APPROVING PRELIMINARY PLANS,
SPECIFICATIONS, FORM OF CONTRACT, ETC., SETTING
DATE OF BID OPENING AS SEPTEMBER 11, 2025, AND
DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING AS SEPTEMBER 15, 2025, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH DEMOLITION AND SITE
CLEARANCE SERVICES, CONTRACT NO. D-2025-08-01P,
AND INSTRUCT THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH NOTICE.
WHEREAS, preliminary plans, specifications, and form of contract have been prepared
for the Demolition and Site Clearance Services to be executed under Contract No. D-2025-08-
01P, a project integral to the City of Waterloo's urban development and infrastructure
improvement efforts; and
WHEREAS, the intended demolition and site clearance services are crucial for preparing
targeted areas for redevelopment, enhancing community safety, and facilitating future city
planning initiatives; and
WHEREAS, moving forward with the procurement process, including competitive
bidding, is essential to uphold principles of transparency, fiscal responsibility, and maximizing
value for municipal projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The preliminary plans, specifications, form of contract, and all associated
procurement documents for the Demolition and Site Clearance Services, Contract No. D-2025-
08-01P, are hereby approved.
2. The date for the opening of bids for Demolition and Site Clearance Services to be
executed under Contract No. D-2025-08-01P is set for September 11, 2025, and the public
hearing on the proposed contract and specifications is set for September 15, 2025.
3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of said public hearing in accordance
with applicable laws and city policies, ensuring adequate notice to the public.
