RESOLUTION NO. 2025-493
RESOLUTION APPROVING REQUEST BY THE WATERLOO
REGIONAL AIRPORT TO RELEASE 13.0 ACRES OF
AIRPORT PROPERTY KNOWN AS PARCEL G AND PARCEL
H, FOR THE AMOUNT OF $577,800.00, TO THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA FOR CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT,
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE ALL FORMAL LAND RELEASE DOCUMENTS AS
REQUIRED AND SUBMIT SAID DOCUMENTS TO THE
FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION.
WHEREAS, the Waterloo Regional Airport has requested the release of approximately
13.0 acres of airport property known as Parcel G and Parcel H for the proposed sale to the City
of Waterloo at a price of $577,800.00; and
WHEREAS, the release and subsequent transfer of these parcels are intended to support
the City's goals for continued development, thereby contributing to municipal growth and
economic opportunities; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to complete all formalities and compliance measures required
by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to effectuate release and ensure alignment with
federal regulations governing airport properties.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The release of 13.0 acres of airport property known as Parcel G and Parcel H from the
Waterloo Regional Airport to the City of Waterloo for the amount of $577,800.00 is hereby
approved.
2. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa and facilitate the submission of these documents to the FAA
for final approval.
