RESOLUTION NO. 2025-496
RESOLUTION APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH TALLGRASS ARCHAEOLOGY, OF
IOWA CITY, IOWA, IN THE AMOUNT OF $15,678.68, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE EDA GRANT FOR STORM AND
SANITARY SEWER FOR THE WARP BUSINESS PARK, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is undertaking infrastructure improvements for the
storm and sanitary sewer systems in the WARP Business Park, funded by an Economic
Development Administration (EDA) Grant; and
WHEREAS, the project requires professional archaeological services to ensure
compliance with federal and state regulations pertinent to environmental and cultural resource
preservation; and
WHEREAS, Tallgrass Archaeology, of Iowa City, Iowa, has been identified as a
qualified provider of the necessary archaeological services; and
WHEREAS, a Professional Services Agreement detailing the scope of work and
compensation in the amount of $15,678.68 has been negotiated with Tallgrass Archaeology to
fulfill project requirements; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City to secure these services to meet project
deadlines and compliance standards.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, that:
1. The Professional Services Agreement with Tallgrass Archaeology, in an amount not
to exceed $15,678.68, for archaeological services as part of the WARP Business Park project, is
hereby approved.
2. The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
